On the north side of Southlake, the land slopes down through post oak woods at the Bob Jones Nature Center to the shore of Grapevine Lake, and in July that water looks like the only cool thing for miles. Huffman Landscape & Irrigation carries a little of that relief up into the yards: landscapes planted and kept, lawns tended, and irrigation set so the water soaks down to the roots instead of running off down the curb. A North Texas summer tests every blade of grass; the sun comes up hot and stays there until long past supper. Water with good timing is what keeps a Southlake lawn green deep into August, and there is real satisfaction in watching it hold.
