Memorial Green Turf

About Memorial Green Turf

Morning in Houston slips in through the tall pines of Memorial Park, mist lying low in the clearings while the first runners round the trail. That early hour, cool at its edges, is a fine picture of what Memorial Green Turf is after: a lawn that looks combed before the day has properly started. In May the St. Augustine grows thick and eager, nearly visible in its climbing, and the Gulf air already hangs warm and heavy. Mowing, edging and trimming keep that rush of growth in order, the line along the front walk as clean as a ruled page. By the time the heat builds over the city, the grass stands deep green and uniform, ready for the long bright afternoon.
