Every April, Georgetown blooms red: corn poppies spill through gardens and along the streets of the town that calls itself the Red Poppy Capital of Texas. Beneath them lies the white of the place, pale limestone in the creek beds, the garden walls and the rock that surfaces in half the flowerbeds in town. Red and White Greenery works in the green between those two colors, with mowing, trimming and bed care that give spring a proper frame. A smooth lawn edged clean beside a border of poppies is one of the season's loveliest sights, and it never happens by accident. Long after the petals fall and summer takes over, that green remains, kept and tidy.
