Mr. Lawn

About Mr. Lawn

Twice a day in the Stockyards, a string of longhorns ambles down Exchange Avenue while visitors hush and drovers keep the herd in line. Fort Worth never quite lost that ranch-town habit of tending whatever is in its keeping, and Mr. Lawn brings it to the yards of the city with plain, steady lawn care. The job is simple to describe and satisfying to see: grass cut even, the lawn brought back into line before the week gets away from it. In late May, when the rains make everything grow at once, that cadence is all that stands between a yard and open range. Mr. Lawn keeps the home pasture short, square and ready for supper outside.
