Mighty Mowers

About Mighty Mowers

Flower Mound takes its name from a real rise of unplowed prairie, a protected hill in town where native grasses and wildflowers still come up each spring the way they did before the roads arrived. Everywhere else, the town's green is the mowed kind, and that is where Mighty Mowers comes in. Cut on a cadence, a lawn here takes on bold stripes and a hard line along every walk, with the clippings swept off the drive. A Saturday in late May, with a breeze riding up off Grapevine Lake, is when the whole street looks freshly pressed. The mound keeps the wildflowers; the yards along the streets keep their trim.
