Green Scene

About Green Scene

In a desert city, green is never background; it is news. Out in El Paso's Upper Valley the Rio Grande slides past farm ditches and pecan orchards, and each November the cottonwoods on its banks blaze gold against the bare brown hills. Green Scene keeps that same stubborn green alive closer to home, with lawn care and landscaped beds tended in a place where rain is a rumor most of the year. From the street, a freshly cut El Paso lawn reads like a small oasis. On a cool, clear late-fall afternoon, with the river trees shining, it is one of the city's simple pleasures.
