Dallas Land Care

About Dallas Land Care

From the Trinity levees at seven in the morning, the city lines up like a promise: glass towers catching first light, the white arch of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge pulled taut over the river bottoms. Dallas Land Care puts the whole city in its name, and its work is just as wide and just as plain, keeping the land that lies between all that concrete. Lawns along the commute, yards behind brick ranch houses, the strip of grass beside a front walk: each one mowed, edged and kept. There is honest pride in a stripe laid straight and a curb line cut clean, the kind of finish a neighbor notices without quite knowing why. In a city of overpasses and towers, somebody has to keep the ground itself green, and this is that work.
