Cedar Crest Gardens

About Cedar Crest Gardens

The cedar elm is the Dallas tree nobody brags about: small sandpaper leaves, a crooked reach, a toughness that has outlasted droughts the city still talks about. Then late November comes and it turns quietly to butter-yellow, lighting the slopes of South Dallas like lamps left on in the afternoon. Cedar Crest Gardens works with something of that native's patience, tending lawns and gardens at the pace of the ground itself. The turf gets its last trim before dormancy, the beds get tucked in, and fallen leaves come off the grass before they can mat. It is the work of finishing a season well, so the yard rests clean through the cold months and wakes eager in March.
