South Texas Turf

About South Texas Turf

Long after sundown in June, the steps of the downtown seawall are still full of people chasing the breeze, and sailboats knock softly against their moorings out at the T-Heads. South Texas Turf tends the warm-season grass that has to stand up to the heat those evenings are an escape from: the blazing days, the dry weeks between rains. Turf on this coast is never left alone for long; it races ahead when the rain comes and thins quickly when it doesn't. Consistent mowing that never scalps it, crisp lines along drives and walks, and a watchful eye keep it dense, springy and green from spring into fall. There is real pride in a lawn you can cross barefoot in July without wincing.
