Morales Landscape

About Morales Landscape

Winter in Corpus Christi is mostly mild, until a norther swings the wind around to come off the land and the air turns sharp before supper. Morales Landscape uses the coast's gentle months to set yards right: shaping beds, cutting back what the long summer overgrew, and keeping the resting grass in trim. These are the weeks for seeing a landscape's structure, the line of a border, the open space around a palm, the stretch of lawn that frames a house. The day's work wraps up as the lights come on along the Harbor Bridge and a tanker slides through the ship channel, and what remains is a yard with its shape restored. When spring growth returns in a rush, it has something orderly to fill.
