Hebert Irrigation

About Hebert Irrigation

Corpus Christi lives in the wind, and anyone who waters a lawn here learns to do it at first light, before the breeze off the bay starts bending every spray sideways. Hebert Irrigation works in that calm hour, when the water along Ocean Drive is still glassy and the palms stand motionless. Irrigation on this coast is a puzzle of fast-drying ground, constant wind and long dry spells broken by sudden tropical rain, and a system has to be set to put water where the grass can hold it. Heads aimed so the gusts carry water onto the lawn instead of the street, the strip by the curb finally covered, start times moved as the days lengthen: the payoff is a lawn that stays green through months of hard sun. By nine o'clock the wind is up and the flags are snapping, and the watering is long done.
