About Highland Lakes Outdoor Living

Around seven on a July evening, when the heat finally loosens its grip and the cicadas take over the live oaks, Cedar Park backyards become rooms again. Highland Lakes Outdoor Living tends the lawns that make those rooms worth stepping into: the patch of grass beside the patio, the strip along the back fence, the shade beneath a spreading oak. Its name looks west toward the chain of lakes the Colorado River fills in the hills, but the work itself stays here in Cedar Park. The point is a yard ready for the hour people actually use it, cut short and even, clippings swept off the pavers, nothing left to do but pull up a chair and watch the sky go orange over the ridgeline.
