Before sunrise on Lady Bird Lake, rowing shells slip past the downtown skyline while runners start their loops on the shoreline trail. The lake is a transformation story of its own: Lady Bird Johnson championed planting the banks of what was then Town Lake, and in 2007 the city renamed the water in her honor. Transformed Landscaping Co. works that same before-and-after on a single lot, with shaggy grass brought down to an even carpet, overgrown edges cut back from the sidewalk, and leaf piles and clutter cleared away. The difference is plainest in early light, when a yard that was yesterday's chore becomes this morning's front-yard pride. Change like that is the whole point, and it shows from the street.
