Strata Landscape

About Strata Landscape

Drive Loop 360 toward the Pennybacker Bridge and the road cuts give away Austin's secret: limestone stacked in thin, cream-colored layers, laid down long ago beneath an ancient sea. Along the Balcones Escarpment that rock gives way to dark prairie clay to the east, so two Austin yards a few miles apart can sit on entirely different ground. Strata Landscape offers mowing, trimming and lawn cleanup in a city built on that layered foundation. In December, when the bald cypresses along the river have gone rust-red and the low sun slants across those exposed ledges, a well-groomed lawn adds its own top line to the story. Every fresh stripe of turf is the newest stratum laid over very old stone.
