Austin's live oaks keep their leaves all winter and then drop them in early spring, right as the bluebonnets start showing blue along the highway shoulders. Ortega Landscapes takes that backwards season in stride, raking and blowing the brown drifts of old oak leaves out of the grass so the lawn underneath can catch the March sun. Once the yard is clear again, the first cuts of the year stand the turf back up into an upright green. Borders along sidewalks and fence lines get trimmed back into shape, and the whole place looks caught up before the warm weeks arrive. Spring comes to Central Texas in a hurry, and it is a fine thing to meet it with a yard already in order.
