About Floyd Landscape Design

Venice was drawn on paper before it was built, a 1920s John Nolen plan of boulevards, parks and Northern Italian-styled buildings set beside the Gulf. Floyd Landscape Design brings that same instinct to a single yard: begin with the drawing, then let the planting follow its lines. In the dry, clear months of a Venice winter, when low sun turns the walls honey-colored, one well-placed palm or a sweep of groundcover can make a house look as though it belonged to the original sketch. Lawn care rounds out the design work, keeping a plan looking intended. On this island town between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf, a designed garden carries on a local habit of composing beauty on purpose.
