About Lawn Sculptures

In Palma Ceia, stucco houses wear barrel-tile roofs and arched doorways, and on a clear February morning their hedges cast shadows as sharp as the architecture behind them. Lawn Sculptures approaches a yard the way that neighborhood approaches a facade, as something shaped on purpose. Hedges are clipped into clean forms, shrubs rounded or squared to suit the house, and the lawn cut into a smooth, level plane that lets those shapes stand out. Tampa's mild winter slows new growth, so a shape holds longest now, before the spring flush sends shoots in every direction. Stroll past a finished yard and it looks less mowed than carved.
