About Whitney Water Works

Orlando is a city of lakes, and on summer mornings around Lake Davis the dew lies so heavy on the lawns that it looks as if the water came ashore overnight. Whitney Water Works, a fitting name in this wet green city, keeps lawns in order with mowing, edging along the sidewalks and trimming at porch steps and garden walls. By midmorning the dew has burned off, the herons are back to stalking the shallows, and a freshly mown yard shines dry and level in the sun. A tidy lawn a block from the water is a small pleasure, and one the whole street gets to share.
