About JWD Trees Inc.

After a summer downpour in Fort Myers, the resurrection fern on old live oak limbs uncurls from brown to green within hours, as if the whole tree had taken a breath. JWD Trees Inc. works in that canopy, caring for the live oak, gumbo limbo and mahogany that keep the city's streets and back yards cool. Tree work takes the long view: a thoughtful cut this year shapes how a limb grows for many seasons after, and how it carries the wind when hurricane season comes. Clearing deadwood, raising a low branch over a driveway, shaping a crown so light reaches the lawn below — each job leaves a tree more fully itself. Stand under a tended oak in July and the shade itself feels deeper.
