Smithwell

About Smithwell

On cold January mornings in Clermont, a thin mist lifts off Lake Minnehaha and drifts across neighborhoods that were orange groves until hard freezes, decades ago, changed the town's course. The ground still has that grove-country character, sandy and quick to drain, catching the first warmth on its gentle swells. Smithwell looks after lawns on that ground: mowing, trimming and keeping yards in order through the cool months and the long, fast-growing summer that follows. There is a particular pleasure in a Clermont yard finished early, the grass dewy and even, the hills behind it going gold as the mist burns away.
