About JB Stone and Gardening Services

In Branford, stone comes with a story: pink granite from the Stony Creek quarries went into the base of the Statue of Liberty, and the Thimble Islands still rise from the Sound in that same rosy rock. JB Stone and Gardening Services works this shoreline town with both halves of its name, setting stone and tending gardens and lawns. Sea wind and the long, low light of September make gardening by the water its own art. A walk laid level, a bed weeded and freshly mulched, late flowers holding on near the harbor: that is how a Branford yard earns its view. At day's end, with the Branford River catching the last light, work like that looks as if it has always been there.
