LA Johnny

About LA Johnny

By noon on a Ventura summer day, the morning's gray has burned off and the whole town smells of salt and cut grass. LA Johnny mows, trims and edges lawns here, in a beach city of Pierpont cottages a block from the sand and the Ventura Keys winding along their waterways. Surfers wait on a set at Surfers Point, kids run the length of the pier, and the lawns behind the dunes catch the same bright, breezy light. Sea air is hard on a yard, with sand blowing in and grass growing lean, so a clean edge and an even cut here are modest victories against the coast.
