About Defensible Space Pros

By July the ridges above Terra Linda have gone the color of a lion's coat, and the long blue roof of Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin Civic Center floats over a San Rafael valley turned to gold. Defensible Space Pros keeps lawns in hand through that dry stretch, when oaks cast the only deep shade and the grass between them has stopped greening on its own. The work is a short, even mow, a trim along the overgrown margins and hauling off the dry cuttings summer leaves behind. A trimmed-down lawn and a cleared border look cool and composed under a hard afternoon sky. Evenings, when the breeze comes in off the bay, the yard is ready to be sat in.
