Foliate

About Foliate

Late November is when the City of Trees earns its nickname. Ginkgos go gold almost overnight, sycamore leaves as big as open hands drift onto the sidewalks, and the gutters of the downtown grid run with color. Foliate, a name that is practically a leaf itself, does lawn care for this season of abundance: raking and blowing the fall drop off the grass, mowing what lies beneath, and edging the walks back into view. Beneath so much foliage, a lawn needs light and air to come through winter strong. A cleared yard on a short, honey-colored afternoon is a small and genuine pleasure.
