Gardeners' Guild

About Gardeners' Guild

On summer afternoons the fog pours in through the Golden Gate and comes to rest over Point Richmond, cooling the hillside gardens above the old downtown. Gardeners' Guild works lawns in that soft gray light, where the moist air keeps grass growing slow and steady and each pass of the mower lays down an even stripe. Mowing, edging and trimming here mean reading a yard that can be bright at noon and misted by four. The reward shows the next morning, when the fog pulls back, the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge reappears across the water, and the lawn looks freshly combed. It is gardening with patience, tuned to the shoreline's own weather.
