Oxnard's shoreline is a long, wild run of sand, from the beach houses of Silver Strand to the dunes and wetlands at Ormond Beach, where shorebirds chase the edge of every wave. Pacific Coast Landscape serves lawns in neighborhoods that live beside that ocean, with salt in the air and an onshore wind bending the blades beside the walkways. Winter swells boom along the beaches, the Santa Clara River slides out to sea at the city's northern edge, and between storms the lawns turn a deep, cool green. Edging, trimming and a regular cut keep those coastal yards trim against the constant push of wind and sand. When the evening fog drifts back over the dunes, a lawn squared at the edges and swept clear of sand looks sure of itself, as if it had been planted to face the sea.
