Doug Petersen Tree Service

About Doug Petersen Tree Service

Ione rests in a fold of the Sierra foothills, where Sutter Creek slips out of the hills and the oak-studded slopes turn from rain-green in February to straw-gold by June. Doug Petersen Tree Service works among those oaks and the lawns beneath them, in a town where the red-brick towers of Preston Castle still look down from their hill. Blue oaks and valley oaks are the true architecture of this country, and a tree pruned with patience can shade a porch through generations of drowsy summer afternoons. Down in the yards, the grass gets its trim between the long dry spells and the first autumn rains. It is grounded, unhurried work in an old clay-mining town that smells of wet earth after a storm.
