Come spring, the hills around the Ramona Bowl turn green and flowered as the Ramona play returns to its hillside amphitheater. Columbia Water Gardens carries water in its name, fitting for a valley that prizes every drop, and it brings lawn and garden care to Hemet yards: grass cut, beds tended, plantings kept going through the dry inland months. When summer presses down and rain is a memory, a green, well-kept garden here feels like a small oasis, cool to look at from the porch. That is the season this work is really for.
