About Al's Landscape Construction

On the clearest January day in Fresno, after rain has scrubbed the valley air, the Sierra Nevada stands up white along the whole eastern sky and the city feels briefly like a mountain town. Al's Landscape Construction builds in the flat, fertile ground beneath that view, laying out yards, shaping planting beds, and putting in lawn areas and the paths between them. Valley soil is rich but bakes hard by August, so a yard made here has to be planned for afternoons that pass a hundred degrees. Winter is a fine time to begin: the ground is workable, the air is cool, and by spring the new yard is ready to green up as the orchards around the valley burst into bloom.
