Roy's Tree Service

About Roy's Tree Service

Roy's spends most of the year among the cottonwoods and windbreak rows that Platte County ranchers planted decades ago to slow the wind, and in winter those same trees mark the edges of the driveways the crew keeps clear. Snow here rarely falls straight down; it comes sideways, catching in the shelterbelts and piling deepest right where a driveway meets the county road. Roy's plows work those exact seams, cutting through the drift banked against the treeline before it can bury a mailbox or block a school bus turnaround. Around Wheatland's older neighborhoods, where big cottonwoods shade the summer streets, the crew clears sidewalks underneath bare branches that won't fill back in until well after the last plow route of the season. It is quieter work than trimming a windbreak, but it follows the same lines the trees have already marked on this land.
