Midnight Dragon

About Midnight Dragon

Midnight Dragon works the hours its name suggests, sending plows out across Wheatland while most of the town is still asleep and the wind is at its sharpest. Under a sky thick with plains stars, the trucks clear the streets downtown and the residential blocks around them before the first porch lights come on, so the drive to work or to school starts on bare pavement instead of drift. Platte County wind has a way of refilling a plowed street within the hour, so the crew often circles back a second time before sunrise to keep pace with it. Parking lots at the grocery store and the school get cleared in the same overnight pass, ready before anyone arrives to open up. By the time the eastern sky turns from black to gray, the streets Midnight Dragon has already worked are the ones still holding their edges.
