Go Green spends its summers keeping water moving through the ditches and pivots that turn Platte County's dry plains into hay and alfalfa ground, and its winters keeping the driveways and farm lanes along those same fields open. Late in the day, with the irrigation lines drained and shut down for the season, the crew works its way along the roads north and east of Wheatland, pushing snow off the approaches to barns and equipment sheds before dark. The Wheatland Flats stretch flat and white under a low December sun, broken only by fence lines and the dark cut of a plowed lane. A handful of in-town customers get a cleared walk to the door too, but it's the long farm lanes past the edge of Wheatland where the routes take the longest. It is the same ground the company waters every summer, just working the opposite problem now.
