About Moorehouse Inc

West of Torrington the old emigrant road runs toward Fort Laramie, and spring seems to reach that open country a week before it reaches the streets in town. Moorehouse Inc starts its season on that first thaw — cleanup, dethatching, the winter-flattened grass combed back upright and given room. Then the mowing weeks arrive, trimming close and edging the walks, the mown lines laid down parallel and the turf keeping them until the next visit. At dusk the yards along the grid take on the same soft color as the fields beyond the last row of houses, and the day's work is legible from the street. That legibility is the whole point of doing it carefully.
