A residential street above the park holds its snow in shade most of the day, and this crew clears it early, before the pull of that steaming water draws the morning's first visitors down to the park gates. Cottonwoods and the odd aspen stand along these streets carry a heavy load after a wet Bighorn Basin snow, and part of the job is checking that a driveway won't get buried again by a branch giving way overnight. The bison herd that winters in the park below sometimes shows dark against all that white, visible from a yard this crew is still clearing.
