Kodiak Services

About Kodiak Services

From the high ground north of Sundance, on a clear winter morning, Devils Tower stands up out of the plains thirty miles off, a gray shape above snow that runs unbroken between here and there, and Kodiak Services works the driveways and county roads on this side of that view. The wind that crosses that open grassland doesn't slow down for anything, and a driveway that was clear at sunrise can carry a fresh drift by the time the plow gets back around for its second pass. Fence lines out here catch snow the way a comb catches hair, building long ridges the truck has to cut through rather than just push aside. Closer to town, the same crew clears shorter, quieter driveways where the wind has less room to build anything serious. Kodiak Services covers both kinds of ground, the exposed and the sheltered, keeping this stretch of Crook County open under a sky that includes that one unmistakable landmark.
