About JW Services, LLC

East of Sundance the land climbs into the Bear Lodge Mountains, a run of pine ridges that hold their snow in deep blue shadow long after the open prairie below has thawed bare, and JW Services, LLC runs its plow route up into that timber most winter mornings. A cabin road cut through the ridge gets the first pass, snow pushed off to the low side where the pines will hide the pile until spring finds it. Coming back down toward town, the same truck clears driveways along streets that back right up against the timberline, where a stand of ponderosa can dump a fresh load onto a cleared drive with nothing more than a stiff morning breeze. The Bear Lodge holds weather differently than the open country around it, colder in the draws, warmer on the south-facing cuts, and this crew has learned to read which is which before the plow ever leaves the yard. It's careful, ridge-by-ridge work in the timber above a small Crook County town.
