About 307 Tree Service and Landscaping

Heart Mountain stands off west of Powell like something set down rather than built up, and the whole town takes its bearings from it. 307 Tree Service and Landscaping keeps lawns across those flat, irrigated blocks between the canals and the bean fields. Summers are dry and bright, so grass lives on water and on a cut that does not scalp it — a blade set high enough to hold moisture, a trimmer run along walks, fences and tree rings, the cuttings swept up after. The satisfaction is in the after: a yard reading level and finished from the sidewalk with the mountain sitting behind it. In the Big Horn Basin the sky does most of the talking, and a well-kept lawn is how a house answers back.
