High water in June shoves the Snake hard against the levee, and the cottonwood bottoms south of town fill with the sound of it. Snake River Landscaping works the yards up above that noise, from the edge of Jackson down toward Hoback Junction where the canyon narrows and the river turns green again. The routine is weekly and unfussy: mow, trim, edge, haul what comes off. River-bottom soil grows grass fast when it finally warms, so falling behind is not an option in July.
