Green River takes its name from the river that cuts through town below red-rock bluffs the locals call the Palisades, water running cold and green past Expedition Island where an old exploration party once launched downstream into country nobody had mapped yet. D-Boyz Construction works the streets and driveways under those same bluffs, plow blade scraping through snow that the canyon winds pack hard against fences and garage doors overnight. The rail yard on the edge of town keeps running through every storm, and the crew makes sure the lots and access roads nearby stay open for whoever needs to get to work before the light comes up gray over the cliffs.
