About Claude's Welding Services Inc

Inside Claude's Welding Services, winter light comes in low and orange through the shop windows, striping the concrete floor while arc light flickers somewhere in back. But before the torches ever fire up, the same trucks that haul steel around Gillette are out clearing the yard and the block around it, because nobody gets welding done if they can't reach the door. The crew works the lot in the blue dark before the rest of downtown stirs, blade scraping down to pavement, snowbanks squared off along the fence line. It's a small, practical piece of the business — keeping a path open in a town where the cold arrives fast and stays — but it's handled with the same care as anything torched and ground smooth inside.
