Fence lines and frozen stock ponds mark a lot of the ground Double Edge Dirt works on the ranches north of Gillette, cutting drainage and leveling pads most of the year before winter turns the job into something else entirely. When the snow starts, the crew runs the same machines down driveways and access lanes, clearing a path wide enough for a truck and trailer to get through even after the wind has banked drifts up against every post. There's a certain toughness the name implies, and it shows in the work — snow pushed clean off both sides of a lane instead of left half-done, banks squared rather than scraped thin. Out where the county road ends and the private lane begins, that kind of thoroughness is the difference between a passable drive and a stuck truck.
