Wasatch Concrete Solutions spends its summers pouring the driveways and walkways of Evanston, and come the first real snow, the same crew is back out clearing what they built. Evening is often when that work happens — the Uinta peaks catching the day's last light while the plow clears a driveway poured only months before. There's a particular kind of attention that comes from knowing the ground underneath the snow: where the slab pitches, where the water will run once it melts. The crew works methodically from the garage door out to the street, clearing every inch of a surface they poured with their own hands. By the time the light's gone fully purple over the mountains, the driveway is bare concrete again, ready for whatever the night brings.
