Haslem Weed & Turf

About Haslem Weed & Turf

Cowley sits out in the Bighorn Basin where irrigated fields run green right up against dry ground, the Pryors standing off to the north and the Bighorns blue in the east. Haslem Weed & Turf works the lawns and yards of that country — mowing, trimming and edging, and the weed control that keeps a stand of grass from losing its ground to whatever blows in off the sage. Basin turf lives on ditch water and attention: fed at the right time, cut at the right height, thickened until it can hold its own. In a town this size a yard is part of the street, and one done well lifts the whole row of them. There is a plain satisfaction in a lawn that comes back even every spring because somebody bothered.
