About Spruce Creek Enterprises

Stonewood sits up on the hills south of Clarksburg, its streets bending along the slope above Elk Creek, and frost holds in the low spots long after the ridge tops have thawed. Spruce Creek Enterprises works these hillside yards through the growing season: mowing on ground that rarely sits level, trimming along retaining walls and steps, edging where the grass runs out to the road. Small lots, steep banks, tight corners — the job takes more walking than driving, and that shows up in the finish. Late in the year the hardwoods let go and the leaves get cleared away, so the lawns are put to bed before the Harrison County cold sets in for good. Stonewood and the towns right around it make up the whole route.
