Jones Empire

About Jones Empire

A Saturday in St. Albans sounds like mowers, one starting up as another shuts down, all the way down the block. Jones Empire is out in it, laying stripes across front yards, running the trimmer along the walk, cutting a hard edge where the drive meets the grass. Nothing elaborate in the method: mow, trim, edge, blow it clean, then look back at it once before loading up. A lawn done that way holds its shape all week, and the whole street reads better for one house on it being sharp. That is the routine, house by house, through St. Albans and the towns close by along the Kanawha.
