About Luke's Lawn Services

First light on the New Haven river flats is mostly mist, corn standing still, the Ohio moving slow and wide toward Gallipolis on the far bank. Luke's Lawn Services likes this hour — dew heavy, air cool, the day's first lawn cut before the heat gets any ideas. The work is straightforward and done properly: mowing on a regular turn, trimming around porches, posts and mailboxes, edging where the grass wants to creep over concrete. On these flat Mason County lots a stripe runs long and true, and that is a small pleasure that never wears out. Later in the year the yard cleanups take over, clearing off what the wind brings down the valley so the grass goes into winter clean.
