Floyd's Tree Service

About Floyd's Tree Service

October turns the ridges around Mount Hope every color a hardwood knows, and then one hard rain takes half of it down overnight. Floyd's Tree Service works the tight old streets of this Fayette County town and the hollows running out toward Oak Hill and Glen Jean, where the houses sit close and the trees sit closer. A removal here is a matter of inches — limb by limb above a tin roof, the trunk let down rather than felled, brush carried out the same narrow drive it came in by. Pruning and trimming are the quieter half of the work: dead wood out, crowns lifted off the porch, a leaning limb shortened before the ground goes soft. When the wind has already done the cutting, they clean up after it and leave the yard swept.
