West Virginia Green

About West Virginia Green

There is a week in May when every hollow around Harrison County goes green at the same time, and Clarksburg lawns come on so fast they seem to grow between passes. West Virginia Green keeps step with that surge — mowing on a rhythm the grass sets, trimming the corners a deck can't reach, and edging so a lawn ends where it is supposed to end. Rain moves through this valley in the afternoons and leaves the ground soft, so the timing of a cut matters as much as the cut itself. The reward is a yard that reads even from the sidewalk to the back fence, the kind of green that makes a house on an ordinary street look cared for. Later in the year the same lawns get their leaves cleared and their beds put in order before the cold settles in the bottoms.
