About Cuttin It Short -Lawn Care

Morning comes to Cheat Lake sideways, fog lying flat in the coves until the sun gets up over the ridge and lifts it off the water. That is the hour Cuttin It Short -Lawn Care starts its day, mower on the trailer, dew still heavy enough to darken a pair of boots. Yards here run from level lots near the shoreline to pitches that make you choose your line before you cut, and every one of them gets the same attention: an even pass, string trimming along fence lines and foundations, edges cut sharp where the walk meets the drive, clippings blown back off the concrete. By afternoon the grass has a direction to it and the property reads like somebody meant it that way. There is a plain satisfaction in leaving a place tighter than you found it, week after week, from the first green flush of April through the long humid stretch of August.
