All Season

About All Season

Beckley wakes at twenty-four hundred feet with fog still pooled in the hollows below Harper Road, and by the time it lifts the mowers are already running. All Season keeps lawns cut, trimmed and edged across the plateau, from the streets off Eisenhower Drive out toward Prosperity. There is a satisfaction in the moment a yard goes from shaggy to squared away, the line along the walk clean enough to follow with your eye. Clippings get blown off the drive before the truck pulls away, because a finished yard should not leave a mess behind it. In fall the maples let go all at once, and the work turns to carrying the leaves off so the grass can breathe again.
